SUSTAINABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY
Technological innovation and environmental responsibility drive the development of Trafilerie San Paolo. The company constantly invests in advanced plant solutions to improve production performance and reduce the impact of its processes, with an approach focused on energy efficiency, safety, and responsible resource management.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND ADVANCED PLANTS
A central element of the facility is the “Energy Saving” automatic pickling line, with a production capacity of up to 450 tons per day. The plant integrates fume extraction and abatement systems, sulfuric acid regeneration for solution recovery and waste reduction, high thermal efficiency insulated tanks, and water consumption optimization, significantly contributing to the reduction of environmental impact. All heat treatment furnaces are equipped with heat recovery systems integrated into the burners to improve combustion efficiency. The facility is equipped with a photovoltaic system (currently being upgraded) and low-energy LED lighting.
SUPPLY CHAIN AND RAW MATERIALS
Sustainability also extends to supply chain management. Trafilerie San Paolo sources from European companies, primarily Italian, and integrates environmental criteria into supplier evaluations, favoring businesses committed to energy transition pathways. Whenever possible, it promotes the use of DRI direct reduced iron and recycled material, contributing to the reduction of the overall environmental impact.
